Winnie the Pooh Story

Okay, here's a pretty random story I wrote:

    It was the first day of middle school and I was completely lost. I wandered around the halls, with a giant map, trying to get a sense of direction. My gigantic book bag wasn't helping. It seemed to be getting heavier and heavier every second.

I dropped my backpack and plopped on a bench to take a rest. I had a really cool backpack. It was red and white, had lots of pockets, and my name, "Townsend" written on it with blue letters.

Just then, I noticed a big, golden key sticking out of one of the pockets. I took it out... and almost dropped it! It must have weighed 30 pounds!

I looked at the key carefully. It was about a foot long and had some kind of Greek etched in it. Hmm... Greek. I whipped out my Greek pocket dictionary and started translating.

After I painfully converted the Ancient Greek to English, I read the translation, "Silly, silly, peanut. I found a tarantula."

That couldn't be right! It was probably just some joke. Suddenly, the Greek letters on the key shimmered and changed into English. "This key opens a door in this school."

Oh. For the next two hours I looked for a keyhole. I looked in my locker, the cafeteria, the equipment shed, and even the bathroom. I thought for a second. Wait a second, was it possible? Was it actually possible the keyhole was in the Principal's office?

I held my breath and crept into the front office. I dodged employees and staff members as I inched towards the Principal's office. I was halfway there. I threw myself on the ground and desperately crawled... and crawled until I got to the door. I turned the doorknob and it was locked!

Locked! Locked! How? How could it be locked? I slammed my fists on the door... and it flew open. I was now in the Principal's office. I looked around and found a little hole in the wall, almost unnoticeable. I put the golden key in the keyhole and twisted. A loud clicking sound rung in my ears.

The wall shone and a small stuffed toy popped out. I couldn't believe my eyes. It was Winnie the Pooh!

Winnie started dancing and singing, "Winnie the Pooh. Winnie the Pooh. Snuggly, snuggly, snuggly, cuddly, cuddly, cuddly!"

He kept on singing. "Excuse me?" I said. He still sang. "Excuse me!", I shouted.

Winnie       the        Pooh        kept         on          singing. 

I was ready to whack him with the key when he said, "Oh bother, I have a message for you. Math class is straight across the hall, to the right."

Then, he disappeared. Well, that's that, I thought and headed to math class.



  That's the end! I think I'll call it "Winnie the Pooh goes to Middle School" or something like that.

Junior Museum Ziplines

Hello! Last Saturday, I went to the Junior Museum and did this treetop obstacle course / zip line. It is so fun! I did the easy course, but next time, I'm going to do the medium course!

Right now, I am doing this fun camp with a local author, Adrian Foglen, teaching about creative writing. I am writing some wacky stories! I think I'll post some of them.

Camp Ridgecrest

Howdy, people! I just finished an awesome camp called Camp Ridgecrest for Boys in Ashville, North Carolina! (There's one for girls too.) It's a two week, action-packed, sleep-away camp with fun activities and awesome staff! (My counselor liked quantum physics!)  I went horseback-riding, played tennis and dodge-ball, played sock-war (The most awesome game ever!), and more! Here are some pictures:

I definitely recommend this camp to anybody who likes having fun. Bye!
